The Aald Harbour Bed & Breakfast is centrally located in the heart of Lerwick Town Centre, a stone throw away from the local small boat harbour and close to all amenities.

It is only a few minutes away from the local tourist office and bus station. Approx. 10 minutes walk from the Leisure Centre, museum and cinema/music venue, 1 mile from the Northlink Ferry Terminal and approx 30 miles from the main Airport to Shetland. We are ideally situated to tour Shetland.

Shetland! And why you should visit our Isles

Shetland lies at the most northerly tip of the British Isles on the 60° North line of latitude where the North Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. Shetland has some 900 miles of coastline, so where better to come to see the best of Britain's nature.

Do you want to see otters, seals, porpoises or even killer whales. Do you want to get up close to puffins, gannets, guillemots, or the many other seabird colonies which thrive in Shetland? Or perhaps you want to see the famous Aurora Borealis or “Northern Lights” as we call them.

Or maybe you just want to experience something special, magical and unique... the peace and quiet, the dynamic landscape fashioned by geology, the dramatic sea-cliffs contrasting with tranquil voes and beautiful sandy beaches. And of course there is our world famous fiddle music, the annual Up Helly Aa Viking Fire Festival, and many other festivals and exhibitions throughout the year celebrating Shetland's unique heritage and culture.

Customer Reviews

The host of this B & B was ever so friendly and happy to help with everything. The room was perfect and perfectly clean, and cleaned everyday by the host. Coffee/tea facilities in the bedroom. Breakfast was plenty. We had a full English breakfast & toasts, orange juice and coffee, fruits and yoghurts. More was on offer ... served in a lovely dining room. Location: Central. Extra: the host provided us with bus timetables, maps and booklets, though there was a portfolio in our bedroom. Perfect stay and I would certainly recommend to anyone, knowing that they would be well looked after.
