As co-owners of Aald Harbour B&B, we have both lived on the island from birth. We have two girls Ellie & Ruby, Lynette previously ran her own childminding business and worked part-time at the local community centre and George currently works for a local haulage firm. Our mission has been to create warm and inviting interiors where guests can relax and enjoy the surroundings. We are passionate about providing a homely, comfortable and well equipped place to stay, we are happy to help you plan your time on the island and look forward to looking after you in this special place on Shetland. Lynette & George Smith

Aald Harbour B&B is located near the small boat harbour in the town of Lerwick. With a prime central location we provide an excellent base for travelling and exploring all parts of the island. Shetland is a unique and amazing place to explore, very few holiday properties have the charm, quality, comfort and convenience of the Aald Harbour.

Shetland – where Scotland meets Scandinavia and the North Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. At any time of year you’ll be enchanted by the rugged island beauty and the friendliness of the welcome. We have it all from expansive coastal walks, incredible wildlife, historical sights, craft makers and traditional music. Visit Shetland, stay a while, stay forever.

The stone built Aald Harbour was build in 1860 and fully refurbished in 2008. Places and things iconic to Shetland have been the inspiration for each of the rooms featuring individual design, patterns and textiles.
